Reviewing UNFCCC definition of "forest"
The Ecosystems Climate Alliance reviews the definitions of “forest” and “forests in exhaustion”. These definitions create perverse incentives in LULUCF to convert natural forest/peatsoils to plantations, and will undermine REDD resulting in significant carbon and biodiversity loss.
